Yes! We are called to accompany all people in need, regardless of their faith, gender, race, or ethnicity. Additionally, we invite anyone with a desire to serve to volunteer with us.

The social service arm of the Catholic Church in the United States was founded more than 100 years ago to meet human needs through works of mercy. We have been serving continuously ever since. Today, while we operate as a separate entity, the Diocese provides staff, administrative support, and our outreach building, allowing us to partner with local parishes, community partners, and organizations in northern Alabama to serve our neighbors in need.

Our intake process is completed by phone or online, and you will not receive additional services by arriving in person without contacting us first. Calling ahead helps us understand your needs, guide you through the next steps, and ensure your visit (if needed) is smooth and productive.

We will be verifying the legitimacy of all documents to protect the generosity of our valued donors who make our services possible.

While the Catholic Center of Concern does not operate our own shelters, we partner with organizations that provide safe, temporary housing. We can help connect you to a shelter or explore other housing options that fit your needs.

Though we cannot help you with hotel payments, we may be able to assist with helping you find more stable, long-term housing. Please reach out to us for a personal assessment of your situation.
