Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes. Catholic Center of Concern may provide limited rental assistance to eligible individuals and families in our nine-county service area (Colbert, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan) who are facing a housing crisis.

Because funding is limited, assistance is not guaranteed and depends on availability of funds and individual circumstances.

  • All requests must begin through our intake process.

Please call us first at 256-963-9355 during intake hours (Monday–Wednesday, 9 am – 11 am and 1 pm - 3 pm) to begin the process.

You may also reach out through our online or email contact options. We do not provide walk-in rental assistance without first completing the intake process.

  • We ask that you call before visiting.

You are not given additional consideration by arriving in person. Our intake process is handled by phone or online first to ensure your visit meets your needs and that we can serve you efficiently.

  • If your request moves forward, you may be asked to provide:

    • Photo ID

    • Lease agreement

    • Ledger showing balance owed

    • Eviction notice (if applicable)

    • Proof of income

    • Landlord contact information

Additional documentation may be required depending on your situation.

  • Assistance amounts vary depending on:
